Located in the heart of Kurashiki's historic district, the ryokan is easily accessible by public transportation with Kurashiki Station just a short walk away. The area is pedestrian-friendly with many attractions within walking distance. However, the traditional building may present challenges for wheelchair users due to steps, raised thresholds, and narrow doorways typical of historic Japanese architecture.
Policies
This ryokan typically follows traditional Japanese customs with specific meal times and quiet hours. Children are welcome but should be comfortable with traditional Japanese accommodations. Pets are generally not allowed in traditional ryokans. Payment is typically accepted via credit cards or cash. The property may have limited accessibility due to traditional architecture with steps and raised entryways.
Sustainability
As a traditional ryokan, the property naturally incorporates sustainable practices through the use of natural materials like tatami mats and wood, energy-efficient design with paper screens for natural light, and traditional Japanese bathing culture that typically uses less water than Western-style showers. The focus on seasonal, local ingredients in their kaiseki meals also supports local producers and reduces food miles.
⭐ Guest Review
Very beautiful hotel, but compared to many other ryokans all over Japan, it's too expensive. Dinner in particular was disappointing. The first half of the menu was delicate and special while from the shabu shabu on very standard. Rice was not of a particularly great quality. First time that I leave the table being a little hungry still. Also, a very bad habit is to not let customers finish their dishes and appreciate them. Being pushed around at dinner time and told to eat doesn't sound like a nice vacation. Breakfast was nicer than dinner, but canned orange juice is not the best to begin with. The private bath is a nice relaxing space, very simple and quiet. I would not recommend this hotel because the price is too high for the quality and quantity of the food!
