Stayed 3 nights here on my second Takayama visit. Firstly, staff were extremely helpful and proactively offered to and helped on matters such as booking transport, restaurants, etc. Japanese breakfast was really good and good value (I normally don't have hotel breakfasts). Location good as were the rooms and facilities.

Wonderful experience as a first timer. We arrived at Takayama and saw the opportunity with my girlfriend of getting into a Ryokan style place. Even making a same-day reservation the staff was super friendly and helpful. You need to make a reservation, with a little extra fee, for the private onsen (There are free public ones also). It's in turns of 45 minutes starting from 4PM so schedules are a bit tight as they only have one. I would recommend anyone coming to make the reservation of the priva

We stayed at Oyado Koto no Yume in Takayama and absolutely loved it. The location is excellent, only a short walk from both the train and bus station. We arrived by bus from Matsumoto, and it was extremely convenient. All major sights in Takayama are within walking distance, yet the hotel is very quiet as it sits one block behind the station. It is a traditional Japanese hotel where you take off your shoes and wear slippers inside. Upon arrival we were welcomed in a Japanese-style lounge, serve
