It is amazing to see such a huge piece of history preserved right inside a modern shopping centre. The contrast between the old red brick tower and the modern glass cone above it is really striking.
Make sure you actually go inside the tower at the bottom—there is a small museum there that explains how they used to make lead shot by dropping it from the top.
It is a fantastic photo spot and a great way to see how Melbourne has built around its heritage 📸.
