The church was founded in 1871. It is located on the top floor of the building. The church, used by the city’s Russian Orthodox community, has survived many fires. Before the First World War, Russians travelling to Jerusalem for pilgrimage stopped over in Istanbul and used this church. In the early 2000s, an artist from Moscow painted the new frescoes of the saints. There are also several older paintings of St. Panteleymon. I loved the gift shop inside the church.
