The Palatine chapel, and the old royal apartments, are fabulous. I want to go back when the renovation to the chapel is completed.

Absolutely astonishing. A must-visit place if you are in Palermo. The chapel is a UNESCO site, and a marvellous piece of religious art. For me it was breathtaking to finally see in real life something I studied in school years ago!

The palace is also quite nice to visit, as well as the royal garden. I was also lucky and during my visit there was also a photographic exposition, which was very well organised in my opinion.

The staff is super kind and available!

Mind that on Sunday morning there

Its big but beautiful. You can see the combination of the three ruling ethnicities on Sicily in the palace.

I advise to buy tickets online, then you have no wait.

The queue for the ticket office spans the whole east to west of Sicily

Positives: palace is beautiful, in particular the chapel and the recently found Michelangelo statue! I’m glad I saw it! Negatives: if I pay for admission over $15pp I should not have to pay to use the toilet. I have money enough to travel all over the world and I refuse to pay to use the toilet if I’ve already paid admission. Paying staff to stand there all day long is absurd. I agree with other reviews that too much construction/closed off sections for the price of admission.

The chapel is no doubt the best of one of kind. But I am not happy about the service on that day. The Royal apartments are closed that day but they still charge full price. And it’s unbelievable that the toilet inside is NOT free.
