This is one of the oldest and a largest Eastern Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria. Located in the south western rila mountains in Nature park Rila. I drove to this place from Skopje, North Macedonia in Dec 2025. Free parking is available and free parking lots are located few meters away from the monastery entrance. The parking lot available right in front of the entrance is a paid one. Entrance to the monastery was free. We visited the place during the closing hours. The interior looks quite dark a
