Pura Batu Mejan is one of Canggu's oldest coastal temples. Its black stone gates and statues are made of volcanic basalt, like those at Tanah Lot. The name translates as "Temple on the Sacred Rock." It is dedicated to the deities of the sea and serves as a site for purification ceremonies. The entrance was closed, but it's interesting to see what's inside.

Pura Batu Mejan Canggu is a beautiful temple, unique, highly respected and hold great spiritual significant. This holy temple perched on a low-laying beach rock and jutted out to sea. Visitors can feel a calm and relaxed atmosphere, while enjoying beautiful panoramas such as Pererenan Beach, Batu Bolong Beach, and even Kuta, Jimbaran and GWK in the distance.

The scenery is pretty I have to say. But the scam when you come closer completely ruined it. There is a stairs that lead to the temple, or they make you believe. You first have to get cleansed with some sort of holy water before entering, which you have to pay for of course. When you’ve paid you’re allowed up to stairs turning a corner. But surprise surprise there is a gate blocking the entrance! You literally pay for 2 steps and that’s it. You unfortunately can’t see the gate from below. We wat
