The Southern Platform of Monte Alban is a large pyramid with an impressive staircase that leads to an open court which features two additional pyramids, standing side by side on top of the main platform. The restoration of this structure is pretty minimal, only the staircase has been fully restored the bottom platform is covered by vegetation though the outline is easily discernable. Too much reconstruction, and the descriptions are not very helpful (I know “an upside-down man is depicted” on that wall; I can see it 🙄. Give me some background info). An important archeological zone though; just not as impressive as some of its peers. Nice view of the city from the hill top.
