Visiting Peleș Castle in Romania was an extraordinary experience and one of the highlights of our trip.

The castle is absolutely magnificent, both inside and out. The architecture, detailed interiors, and beautiful mountain setting make it feel like a true fairy tale. Every room is rich in history and craftsmanship, and the exhibits are very well presented and informative.

Photos don’t really do this place justice. It’s hard to grasp how special it is until you’re there. The castle (which is actually a royal palace) is full of fine details and easily one of the most impressive buildings I’ve seen. The garden is beautiful and very romantic.

The walk up is uphill and takes about 30 minutes and you can pass both the casino and the monastery. There are two different routes, and I recommend taking one up and a different one down.

I really loved the architecture, Peleș Castle is truly unique and easily one of the coolest palaces I’ve seen in Europe. The details, both inside and outside, are impressive and give the place a special character. It does get quite crowded with tourists, but that’s to be expected for such a popular landmark. Definitely a must-visit when you’re in Transylvania, one of the top must see locations in Romania.

What a beautiful castle. Incredible location and the fact that it was the first castle built with electricity in the 1800s blew my mind. Lovely ornate and well looked after. The drive from Bucharest is long but definitely worth a visit. Make time to visit Transylvania. Definitely recommend you purchase e-tickets ahead of your visit.

Peleș Castle is, without exaggeration, one of the most beautiful and fascinating castles in all of Europe.
