The Palazzo Ducale Guarini, formerly known as the Palazzo Palmieri, was built in the 16th century and renovated in the first half of the 18th century based on a design by architect Mauro Manieri, who created one of the masterpieces of Apulian Rococo.
In 1807 and 1813, it hosted Joseph Bonaparte and, later, Joachim Murat, who, in memory of the splendid hospitality he received, "signed" the mirror on a shelf in the palace with the diamond from his ring.
