We visited the Golfines Palace above and really enjoyed it. From the back, there's a wonderful view of the Adarve. This is a medieval building located in the monumental part of the city of Cáceres. The Adarve is a late medieval tower built during the 14th and 15th centuries. We loved the visit. I recommend it to everyone.

Although built in the 15th century, this palace stands on the remains of earlier centuries and was renovated in the 16th and 18th centuries. The main façade is adorned with the following coats of arms: Above the balcony is the coat of arms of the Golfines family, decorated with fleurs-de-lis and towers. Below are the coats of arms of the Cerda family (three fleurs-de-lis) and the Golfines family (towers and fleurs-de-lis), belonging to the couple who founded the palace.

We only saw it from the outside, walking along the city tour, and yet it's imposing. The Palacio de los Golfines de Arriba blends seamlessly into the fabric of the historic center, with a sober façade that needs no embellishment to convey power and history.
It's one of those buildings you discover while strolling, without lingering too long, but which adds character to the experience and reinforces the feeling of walking through a noble, fortified city.
