The Mauritshuis is an absolute gem in The Hague, small in size but extraordinary in what it holds. The collection is stunning, featuring masterpieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals, and other Dutch Golden Age artists. Seeing iconic works like Girl with a Pearl Earring and Rembrandt’s The Anatomy Lesson up close is a truly unforgettable experience.

An incredible 3 + hours of viewing the world class collection in 16 rooms. Vermeer, Rembrandt, Rubens, Jan Steen…the list goes on and on. The Maurithuis app is fantastic and can be used inside and outside the museum. Great audio and written descriptions done is short and meaningful descriptions of the pieces. Clean restrooms, lockers (50 cent piece, returned) and a lovely gift shop.

Enjoyed The Grand Tour exhibition also, which is above the gift shop.

A small but nice museum with a collection of beautiful paintings. I went there to see the Girl with the Pearl Earring.

It was interesting to watch experts clean up one of the paintings.

Staff are friendly & helpful, the museum & facilities are clean and the shop has nice souvenirs.

You can buy your tickets at the reception as well as leave your coat and bags.

Visited Mauritshuis, a very well-known museum located in The Hague, near the Binnenhof.

The first interesting thing I learned is that Mauritshuis actually means “Maurits’ house”, which is quite fascinating! However, behind the beauty of the building, the story of how its fortune was built is not entirely pleasant. However I won’t spoil it, because you should visit and find out yourself!
