This is what it is all about. Truly deserving its status as a Unesco world heritage site, despite the attraction for fans of James Bond, Matera is extraordinary in many ways, and beautiful in every way. An almost hidden village built into the cliffs and into a bowl that rises up to the town walls.

An absolutely beautiful and breathtaking space, an awe-inspiring panorama of history unfolding before you. A walk through the beautiful center of Matera is an unforgettable experience. We didn't get the chance to return at night, but we've heard it's doubly beautiful then.
