The Abay Kunanbayev Monument is located right in front of the Republic Palace in Almaty, and it’s one of the most important cultural landmarks in the city. The statue stands tall and elegant, reminding everyone of Abay’s huge contribution to Kazakh literature, philosophy, and identity.

When I visited, I felt the surroundings were peaceful and well-maintained. It’s a nice place to stop, take photos, and appreciate a major figure in Kazakhstan’s history.

Nice statue and artwork, Almaty such a good place with so many amazing park and sculpture. This statue located just near the Kok Tobe Cable Car station and Kazkahstan Hotel. There is ice skating field on the winter season behind.

The monument is built in the memory of the famous kazak poet and philosopher Abai Qunanbaiuly. Located near Koke tobe gondola cablecar ticket station. There is a nice park behind the statue of Abai Qunanbaiuly. In winter the place decorated like a Christmas town.
