Doha is one of the few cities where you can move between centuries in the space of a few blocks. In five days, you can uncover the full spectrum of what this city offers. From Islamic art and traditional souqs to ultra-modern districts and vast desert landscapes, this itinerary takes you through Doha at a steady pace. You’ll experience the contrasts that define the city without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
Day 1
MorningBegin with the Museum of Islamic Art. The collection spans centuries and empires, offering everything from calligraphy and ceramics to gold and glasswork. The building itself is a modern landmark designed with traditional geometry, and the surrounding park is ideal for a morning walk with views of the Corniche and skyline.
AfternoonWalk the Corniche at your own pace. It’s a wide waterfront stretch with shaded areas, seating spots and excellent views. Stop by the National Museum of Qatar, just a short ride away. Its immersive exhibits explore Qatar’s history and transformation. Take your time inside the desert rose–inspired structure, and grab a bite at the museum café when you're ready for a break.
NightDinner near the water sets a relaxed tone for your first evening. Try a seafood restaurant overlooking the bay, or return to the Corniche for a peaceful night walk with skyline views.
Day 2
MorningExplore Souq Waqif. Start early, before the afternoon heat sets in. Visit the spice stalls, falcon souq, artisan shops and hidden cafés. Take time to sit for karak and people-watch.
AfternoonStay in the area for lunch. Shay Al Shamoos serves authentic Qatari dishes in a cosy setting. Afterward, visit the nearby Gold Souq or walk to the nearby Msheireb Museums, which tell powerful stories about Qatar’s social and economic evolution.
NightStick around for dinner at Parisa, a beautifully designed Persian restaurant in the heart of Souq Waqif. The tile work and mirrored walls are as much a draw as the food. Afterward, enjoy live music or a casual rooftop tea lounge nearby.
