Probably the best accommodations you can ask for. The First Mate Loft was comfortable, clean, bright and had an amazing balcony for morning coffee or evening wine. The apartment is centrally located and in the heart of the center but close the doors and you’re in a quiet cozy space. When you check in be sure to read through the guest book for all the wonderful recommendations from the hosts and past guests. Truly 10/10!

Varanda Azul lofts is an absolute gem! The proximity to anything you need in Ponta Delgada is perfect, easily walkable to public transportation, conveniences, shops, restaurants and lounges, ocean views, and cultural sights. It is the perfect lift off to any multitude of adventures around Sao Miguel. It provides not only a charming and roomy space, but comforts such as a washer/dryer, and a wonderful veranda with a view of the town center - a perfect perch to people watch while sipping a cafe

The First mate loft is a beautiful apartment. Modern, extremely clean, bright and cheerful. Close to Gates of the City, shopping , restaurants and the marina. A fantastic vacation experience.

We arrived at Varanda Azul Lofts early morning on September 6th. The moment we walked into the First Mate Loft, we felt like it was a home away from home. Every amenity you could need. Paul and Gus were super hosts. Centrally located, within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. They gave us recommendations to restaurants and excursions. We had such a memorable experience that will last a lifetime. We will definitely be back.
