Excellent

Great place! It is a good base for exploring the vang vieng area without putting you in the busy downtown. The whole town isnt quiet though around sunrise. Youll hear the buzzing of the motors of the paragliders in the early morning in most places. So generally I think getting ear plugs if you have a light sleep is advised when staying anywhere central in Vang Vieng. The managers are all Indian guys who speak excellent English and are super helpful and friendly. They helped us organise a scooter which was pretty pricey (-) but they were fine with leaving a ID instead of passport which everyone else in Laos seems to do (+++; I rather pay a few bucks extra and keep my passport). The motorcycle was pretty good but it had problems with the back tire. This was already at inception and the tire ended up flat in the end. The manager did not even try to charge us then which shows off their honesty in this place. Even though its not your fault its pretty standard to be charged in SEA for things like that. This is was a very positive experience and again: I rather pay a few bucks extra but do business with someone honest and trustworthy. Next to renting a motorcycle the hotel also makes tour, bus or train bookings for you and has a laundry service. The facilities are nice and look pretty new. I think the resort is newer than it looks though. The pool is nice and offers a great view. Maybe someone else will build something in between the mountains and the resort, though.
