10/27/2025 - The hotel was open almost 30 years ago as the first 5-star hotel in Pudong, Shanghai, and first InterContinental hotel in mainland China with 418 guestrooms that are located on floors 5 through 23 - each floor has 3 Junior Suites and one Diplomatic Suite (Full Suite). The world-famous InterContinental Club Lounge is at the 24th floor. The Atrium (中庭) is very impressive, which is for events only, and many foreigners stay at this 5-star hotel. Even this hotel is an older property it's very well maintained and has a Timeless classic elegance about it throughout the public areas at the rooms. I was upgraded at my room was massive. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the bathroom well appointed. Staff in the executive lounge were impeccable. The hotel is about a six minute walk from the nearest subway but it's flat. I would definitely return.
