Hampton Inn & Suites Chincoteague Waterfront

We stayed here on Memorial Day weekend 2025. This Hampton is a very nice Hampton with a five-star curbside appeal. The landscaping itself, probably should receive the prettiest Hampton Inn in the country award. The marquee said it was the #2 Hampton in the country, but I don’t know by what organization. (Front Desk told me later it was a Hampton Corporate rating) We don’t always stay at Hampton properties, but we try to most of the time. This has got to be one of the nicest Hampton’s we’ve ever stayed it! I usually always put in a request in the Hilton app for extra bath towels, but they rarely make it to the room. When we got to the room and looked in the bathroom, the extra bath towels were there. That’s another five star shout-out for housekeeping. The sleeper couch is relatively comfortable for sitting on. Not always the case. The parking lot is relatively level to the front door, so you can park anywhere in the lot, and not have to push and pull your luggage cart up any significant hills. Just a slight uphill going in. They also have the old style rectangular luggage carts that carry a bunch of stuff. Room 314 vs room 318. I typically don’t publish specific room numbers, but this time I noticed an unusual odor in 314 that did not exist in 318. Your sense of smell quickly adapts and ignores it, but it’s there when you first enter. Probably a humidity thing as is often the case. Room 314 had a hassock you could rest your legs/feet on while chilling on the couch, but room 318 did not. I missed not having that. Shower was large and very well lighted. No complaints. But, although the shower head pattern choices were easily adjustable and acceptable, the flow rate was pretty low. These kind of flow rates always require me to run the water much longer just to wash and rinse. Breakfast was a pretty standard Hampton Inn spread, but they actually had both scrambled eggs and those folded omelet-like eggs. The milk was not in a refrigerated cabinet, but in stainless steel serving units sitting, I believe, on ice. Not quite as cold as being refrigerated. And it was a nice view of the waterfront from the breakfast dining area. No apparent shortage of housekeepers as they seemed to be working feverishly in the hallways all the time. And the rooms were well kept. We liked it so much, we stayed an additional night. And it was Memorial Day weekend, so I felt we were fortunate they had availability. As I write this review, it has dawned on me that we’ve been on the road 12 days now and I always write notes after each hotel stay, otherwise the hotels all start to blend together in my mind. I also realize, it takes considerable time and effort to do this. I could probably do this for a YouTube living, but I don’t. It’s more like keeping a personal journal of where we’ve been and what we’ve done, but posting it to the review apps to help other customers. Maybe Hilton would pay me someday as a secret shopper. Would we stay again, definitely!
