VanDusen Botanical Garden is one of those places that instantly slows you down in the best way. The gardens are beautifully maintained, with peaceful paths and thoughtful landscaping everywhere you look.
The Christmas lights take it to another level. The whole place transforms after dark, with warm, magical lighting that feels festive without being over the top. Walking through the glowing gardens, reflections on the water, and music in the background makes it feel genuinely special, not rushed

What an absolutely magical evening at VanDusen Botanical Garden! Our whole family had the best time exploring the Christmas light display — it felt like walking through a fairy tale. The lights were dazzling everywhere — from the glowing tunnels to the reflections on the pond — every corner was picture-perfect. The kids were in awe watching the dancing lights set to music, and the hot chocolate stalls made it even better! There’s something so joyful and peaceful about being surrounded by nature

This is actually a reallly lovely place and experience to have, it’s worth checking out 100% Reasonably priced to acccomodate people from all incomes. It’s also wheelchair accessible, and kid friendly. There is a lot of love that goes into this place, into getting it all prepared so well done to all the staff members who contributed to this glorious display and occasion!! And thankyou for playing Mariah Carey in the Rose Garden 🥹 but The best part of it all, was my brother being a goofball the w

Festival of Lights was incredible. There were so many beautiful displays throughout the gardens. Obviously, a huge amount of work was done to set it up. There were plenty of places to buy some light foods on the property, like hot chocolate, chocolate fondue, mini donuts, etc Finding parking was very challenging, but if you just keep circling the property you will eventually see a spot become available. There was a lovely gift shop on the property with many unique items. I would like to add

There is something magical about Christmas lights and the Festival of Lights did not disappoint. Full of unique displays that were enjoyed by all ages as we celebrated the holidays with family - 10 of us together. We found the pathways easy to maneuver so all ages could enjoy and had lots of room but can see that it might get a bit crowded on sold-out events. A fabulous night had by all - we’ll return again as there is always something new to enjoy!
