The Virginia V Steamship is truly in a category of its own. It’s a non-profit, wooden, steam-powered ship that somehow gives full Queen Elizabeth II Parent Trap vibes — timeless, romantic, and wildly special.
The crew is incredible. Kind, accommodating, and so knowledgeable about the ship and its history. You can feel how much they care. The captain even let my couple step behind the ship’s wheel for a few “just married” photos, which was such a meaningful (and unforgettable) touch.

The Virginia V is the most unique live music venue in all of Seattle, maybe one of the most unique in the country. I don’t know of any other shows on a 104 year old restored wooden steam boat. Definitely something to check out if you love history and music. The artists are always very talented and enjoyable.

Beautiful wedding venue. My friends got married on the Virginia V and it was a beautiful wedding. The volunteers on the boat were really passionate about the history of the boat too and told us all about the history of the engine and how it works, etc (those that didn’t care or didn’t want to hear about the history didn’t have to go to the engine room and could just enjoy the boat/reception)

This review is for the 13 min tour of the Virginia V steamship. We came across this tour by accident and decided to check it out. The tour was interesting and time flew by quickly. From the website- "When the ship is at the dock and not booked for a cruise or event, it is open for public tours Thursday through Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m"
The tour is free but at the end there is a table with pre-selected suggested card donation of $10.
