An audio tour through the state rooms is a great way to explore. You can wander at your own pace for about 90 minutes, listening to fascinating stories about the history and decor.

Amazing experience and a great privilege to step inside Buckingham Palace. Blown away by the grandeur and splendour of it all. You are not permitted to take photographs and videos inside the State Rooms, but you can in the Palace Cafe and Gardens. The cafe is a bit expensive but you get bragging rights to say you had afternoon tea at the Palace!

On arrival, there was quite a queue at gate C, but it did move fairly quickly. The entry process is very strict with bag checks and body scanners but quick and efficient. They provide you with a mic and headset. Most of it just talks about when the items were purchased, from where, who purchased them, and brief description of them. Not saying this was bad. Just not as exciting as we hoped. Made it through in less than an hour. It’s not rushed so if you wanted to spend more time you

My friend and I visited for a tour of the state rooms on 29/7/2025. We were really looking forward to it but was very disappointed - a rip off at £32! If we wanted to tour the gardens it was another £20. We expected a guided tour for that price but it was an audible tour. It said allow 2 hours we stretched it to 1 hour 15. Loads of young friendly stewards to guide you but no actual ‘guides’ to ask questions. We found the older stewards really miserable especially the ladies in their 60s, must ha
