National Museum of Malaysia is a calm and well-organized place to understand Malaysia’s history and culture. The exhibitions are clear and informative, covering different periods from ancient times to modern Malaysia. The building itself is nice and well maintained, and the visit doesn’t feel rushed or overwhelming. It’s a good stop for anyone who wants a straightforward introduction to the country, especially if you’re visiting Kuala Lumpur for the first time.

I visited Muzium Negara during my summer break, and it remains one of the best value-for-money historical experiences in Kuala Lumpur. Entry for Malaysians is only RM2, while it is RM5 for foreigners.

The location is incredibly convenient if you use public transport. The Muzium Negara MRT Station (Kajang Line) is right next door; just follow the underground walkway to reach the museum entrance directly.

Very educational for both local and foreign tourists on the history of Malaysia. There is an entrance fee, which is pretty cheap, about RM5. Highly recommended if you love history.

The museum has 4 sections - only had time to do two of them - the colonization period by the Portuguese, Dutch and British and the independence. As with other museums of history, many of the exhibits were firearms, swords and cannons. I found the section on indépendance more interesting. The highlight being a short video with a grampa explaining merdeke to his three young children. The background provided by our guide helped explain the key to Malaya gaining its indepence from Britain.

Good place to go for tourists from local to foreigners. The main museum building was split to 4 rooms with each room having it's own categories starting from prehistory until modern day Malaysia. There are also other exhibits split on other building within the museum compound. Price for local is RM 2 while foreigners are RM 5 (cheap ticket mainly due to government subsidy). It would take at least 2 and a half hours to finish roaming around the museum. There are also plenty of cafes and a food co
