The other day, I visited Shikishima Grand Church, which overlooks Mount Miwa. The first thing that caught my eye was its large, verdigris-colored roof and imposing gate. I was overwhelmed by its majestic presence.
After passing through the gate, removing my shoes, and entering the worship area, I found myself in a quiet, sacred space that felt like another world. Every corner had been meticulously cleaned, and it was very calming. Looking up at the ceiling, I was taken aback by the impressive p

The temple was designed by a cutting-edge architect of the time. Did I mention Kishimoto? 😂 It was built using a suspended ceiling system, making it the largest suspended ceiling remaining in Japan. It seems that other prominent suspended ceiling buildings were demolished one after another, and before we knew it, this was the largest suspended ceiling in Japan...

It was a fairly large Tenrikyo building. Right behind it are the ruins of Emperor Sujin's palace, which has a great atmosphere. It's a little off the Yamanobe Road, but it's worth the visit.
