A significant structure in the Zamość Fortress. According to history, Archduke Maximilian Habsburg was led into the fortress through this gate as a prisoner of Jan Zamoyski. After his arrival, the gate was bricked up on Jan Zamoyski's orders to prevent anyone more distinguished than the Archduke from passing through it. An interesting historical site.

On this side of the city the walls are not beautifully preserved and exposed, but the Old Lublin Gate is in good condition and nicely visible from the park.
