St. Catherine's Cathedral is a Catholic cathedral that serves as the seat seat of the Apostolic Vicariate of Alexandria of Egypt and as the church of the Franciscan monastery in Alexandria.
It was built from 1847 to 1856 in the Neo-Baroque style, designed by the Franciscan architect Serafino da Baceno. In 1927, the current facade, designed by the Italian architect Mario Avena in the Roman Baroque style was added.

Very interesting place! Open for visitors 8:00-12:00 16:00-19:00 Here is great organ, unfortunately no one play on them, decoration only… Hardly recommend!)

In this place with its beautiful Cathedral and gardens and AC Club there you can feel what means really to be sisters&brothers with all honest peoples on this Earth!!! The Franciscan Friars are GREAT !!! They hug ALL honest and good persons and it's not important what faith have these persons!!! In fact GOD created everything and us humans too, but all these many different religions are only products of us humans!!!! For our good GOD is not important if we are Christians or Muslims or Hebrews o
