Highly quiet and calm divine filled atmosphere within the residential high place for Catholic worshippers. Regular holy masses and Novena are said with mostly Tamil language.

This big church was built way back in 1820 by the Colombo Chetty Community and renovated in 2000s. In 1990 The archbishop of Colombo declared it as the New Chetty Street Parish for the parishioners of Kochikade. Church has around 2000 catholic families. Most of them are tamils. Church celebrates its feast every year in september.
