Old Town Road in Kotor is more than just a path—it’s a journey through centuries of history and jaw-dropping scenery. We hiked the full trail, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The stone steps wind up the mountain, offering panoramic views of the bay, the rooftops of Old Town, and the dramatic cliffs surrounding the city.
💡 Tip: If you start your hike from the Ladder of Kotor, you can actually enter the fortress area from above without paying the usual €15 fee. It’s a bit of a hidde

15 euros collected if you come up the “traditional” way out from old town. “Cash only”. The views are great the steps are smooth and trail isn’t well maintained. The fort is essentially in ruins without a map. I’d really recommend you just go on the route behind the old hydro plant and skip the charge and enjoy the views that way I’d use that trail to hike to the top and have a picnic and skip the whole church and fort as they aren’t so interesting or maintained. Wear appropriate shoes and bring
