If you are next door visiting Lotus Tower, make the short walk and stop into the National Postal Museum. It is located on the ground and first floor of the Postal Office Headquarters. I got followed by the gate security guard and he didn't know where the museum was but I soon worked it out from floor directory. I went inside and a gentleman soon came down and took em outside to buy a ticket. I was sold 3 tickets (R200 x 2 and R100), totally R500 or about $2USD. Not sure what the price is for for

This is an exceptional place, brimming with an extensive collection of Sri Lankan postal history. It's regrettable that we didn't discover it sooner. The artifacts are impeccably showcased, and we were fortunate to have a knowledgeable gentleman guide us through the exhibits. Our visit happened during a special event on a Saturday afternoon, just before closing time, so we couldn't fully explore every item, particularly the stamps on the upper floor. I highly urge everyone to make a trip to this

Postal museum is a Sri Lanka's national museum of post that located at the Postal Headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Firstly, the postal museum was functioned at the Central Telegraph Office during 1918–1925, and moved to General Post Office in 1994. Again, a national postal museum was opened on 6 July 2010.

Good for students and everyone who likes to improve knowledge about history. The museum is operated by Postal Head Quarters. Situated in the same premises. The inside is comfortable and calm. Have most of the historical things related to postal department. Better to take a notebook to make a note of important facts.

I’m unlucky and missed to see th inside. When we went it’s closed. But luckily saw few things used to send postal letters.
