We arrived an hour before closing. I would recommend having a bit more time than that, especially to be able to see their indoor exhibits. But the outdoor grounds were beautiful, especially the bonsai garden. Would definitely recommend and go back to visit!

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is a truly breathtaking and peaceful destination that offers a perfect blend of culture, nature, and history. From the moment you enter, you feel a sense of calm and balance that is rare to find. The gardens are beautifully designed, meticulously maintained, and inspired by traditional Japanese landscaping. Each garden has its own theme and style, reflecting different periods of Japanese history, which makes the walk both relaxing and educational.

The museum itself is small but nicely done. It provides good context and history, but it is not the main attraction. The real gem here is the Japanese garden. It is beautifully curated, peaceful, and incredibly well maintained. The bonsai trees alone are worth the visit. They are truly spectacular and clearly cared for with patience and intention. My partner and I took our nephew and his fiance there yesterday (New Year's Eve). We had an absolutely magical time. Although the weather was unseasonably cool, it was perfect for walking the gardens. A wonderful break from the beaches and theme parks, we found the gardens a picturesque way to become reacquainted with nature and we're in awe of the absolute beauty that this man created 100 years ago. What a hidden gem, I wish I could give it 10 stars!
