you can go up with a simple car not 4x4. I left it at the base of the mountain to do some hiking but I could take it as well. It's easy to climb even with a toddler of 5 but it will take some time as he could not keep up.

Hardest hike I've ever done but the best views. Sadly the church wasn't open but the views, the vultures and the goats made up for that. We hiked up the trail but walked back down via the road.

Highly recommend this place. Very quiet with a nice view. You can go inside the church, if the door is closed, you can just open it (a local told us it is allowed). You can reach it by car, we had a toyota yaris rental and had no problem. It’s gravel, but 10-20km/h should do it.

Find your way up there... Near Heraklion around 10 kilometres from the city. The view is esronishing... Breath air! Once per year there is a celebration of Jesus when many people walk up the mountain.

A place of worship with a magnificent view of the surroundings.

You can reach the top even with a smaller car, you have to drive slowly, carefully, patiently and with strong nerves. 😁 The road is dusty and gravel, so it might be better to consider an off-road vehicle or a car with a higher chassis.
