Come here after 4.30pm when the heat of the sun is waning to see fabulous views of Sanya from any point, and then watch the sunset over South China Sea - majestic!
For tourists - bring your passport then go to the ticket office to buy a RMB28.00 (around £3) return ticket for a small bus trip that takes you part of the way up the peak, you then do a nice 10 minute walk to the peak. There are shops and restaurants along the way - touristy but gives you places to duck-out of the heat for refreshme

The park is nicely designed and it offers a stunning view over Sanya. In the night it show's a beautiful colored light design. You can bock a car-transfer to the top of the mountain, but I would recommend to walk, because the way up offers beautiful views and good photo spots.
