Fantastic museum. The cog was the highlight for me. The discussion around Russia's paranoid treatment of Estonian seafarers was very enlightening. Lots of artefacts and beautiful models of boats throughout history. A must when visiting Tallinn.

The Estonian Maritime Museum is where history sails right into fun ⛵⚓. From ancient shipwrecks to a full-size submarine you can actually walk through, it’s like stepping into a time machine—only way cooler and less risky. The exhibits are super engaging, the views from the top are stunning, and I left feeling both smarter and slightly more qualified to be a pirate. 🏴‍☠️😂 A must-visit in Tallinn if you love history, ships, or just pretending to be Jack Sparrow for a while.

Located in a massive tower of the old town wall, they have exhibits of cogs ( including the original wreck of a medieval cog hanging from the ceiling), sailing ships, steam ships and modern motor ships on four stories. You can either take the stairs or the lift. The exhibitions mainly consist of very nice models of ships and some miscellaneous artefacts. At the top floor, there is a terrace with a wonderful view above Tallinn.

This museum is pretty cool, it's also got a rooftop terrace you can get some lovely views of the city from.

Don't confuse this with the Seaplane harbour museum if you want to go into the submarine, this isn't the one.

This museum is included in the Tallin card, so definitely check it out if you have one.

Not very spectacular, and quite small. It has no unusual exhibits. The highlight would be, let's say, the wreck of a small boat discovered in the area, but it's not very impressive. Otherwise, many models, some old navigation instruments, some personal items of former sailors. The view from the roof terrace is not unusual either. It took me about 45 minutes to visit it. The ticket, 15 euros, is a bit expensive for what it offers. There is a combined ticket, which also allows access to the Eesti
