The Church of Saint Stephen is a Baroque church. Its construction began in 1604, where in the 12th century, the first cathedral of Hvar was located. The church houses the triptych by F. De Santacroce (1516-1584) and the black marble altar of Santa Croce by A. Bruttapelle from 1773, while the bell tower, separate from the church, dates back to the 18th century. The ground floor of the bell tower was built with stones from the walls of the Lighthouse and, ''where once was the entrance to the city,
