Seeing this historical structure built of solid black rock up close was truly a sight to behold 😍, couldnt get over its overall chique look all around, so much character and style !

Christ Church Mutwal is the first anglican cathedral established in Sri Lanka in 1852. It is built in the style of old english architecture. You can visit the cathedral anytime and if it is closed you can enter into the premises by informing to the security guard. The church service and the time table of prayers are shown inside on a notice board. If you want to take pictures inside of the churche a special permission should be granted.

Christ Church Mutwal, affectionately referred to as ‘Gal palliya’- This was our first Cathedral before we shifted that title to the magnificent church presently located at Bauddhaloka Mawatha, the Cathedral of Christ, next to the BMICH.
