A pleasant little church, rather simple in design, with limited pomp and circumstance. The exterior façade also reflects simplicity. The ceiling fresco and the marble altar, apparently with the golden "crown" and three figures, are magnificent and baroque in style. Unfortunately, like most churches, it can only be viewed from the outside behind bars.

The first documents attesting to the church's presence date back to the mid-to-late 16th century (1557), but its current Baroque appearance is due to renovations in the 17th century.
The interior, with a single nave, has a stucco ceiling and a mid-18th-century marble altar by the Italian sculptor Bettini. The gilded baldachin (above the altar) dates back to the 19th century and is the work of Piran-born Zarotti.
Near the entrance, a holy water stoup made of Vrsar stone from 1662 deserves atten
