If you visit Portugal, from Lisbon only like 40mins by train trying to escape from the busy metropolitan city like Lisbon visit the calmer beachy side city like Belém is actually incredible experience and beautiful scenery. They have many museums and also the vastly garden and the view towards the ocean and the historical Belém Tower as well.

Beautiful place and historic monument, but it was under renovation at the time of visit, Oct 2025. No one allowed in until renovation is complete. Still close to other sites such as Momument of discovery and the monastery, worth a visit.

The cafe by the sea and under a couple of shady trees is awesome Provides great snacks and drinks Service outstanding Doesn’t rush to vacate a table Had close to 3 hours long relaxed chit chat with friends on a couple of occasions The place is serene and cool owing to the shade from the trees in spite of all the heat around Must visit
