The 2 volunteers we spoke to in the museum were really friendly and informative, making us feel welcome and highlighting key points. Museum is well put together, it took us about an hour to go through everything. The model railroad/town in the basement was so well done, really intricate and gave a great idea of what Bayfield looked like in the past. They accept donations since it is a free museum.

The award-winning museum is a gem. Highlights include the model railroad, which is a painstakingly accurate representation of downtown Bayfield in the late 1800’s and an authentic birch bark canoe.
