We visited the Ban Nam Khem Tsunami Museum, and it was a really great experience. The museum is completely free, which is amazing, and the staff were very kind and helpful. It almost felt like having a private guide with us, since they explained things and showed us around in a very friendly way.

Inside the museum, we watched a short 10-minute movie about the tsunami. It was very interesting and gave us a better understanding of what happened and how powerful the wave was. The museum is also ve

Very nice museum better than the museum at Klaolak center. You can feel the feeling that the museum wants to convey to its visitors. There is a good story telling and also has a rooftop for the locals to take shelter and the feeling is expressed through the decorative tiles that express creativity. If you visit here please consider to support the local at the store. ❣️

I recently visited the Tsunami Memorial and Museum, and it was a profoundly informative and modern experience. The local government has done an exceptional job with its design and presentation. As a European kid when the tragedy happened, much of the knowledge presented was new to me. The exhibits are well-curated by lovely locals, offering deep insights into the events and the impact on the community. Wishing all the best to the Thai people. It’s admission free.

I visited just before closing time but with enough time to see the entire tour. Very emotional, as to be expected. Worth the visit though to get a sense of what happened on December 26th 2004. My only quibble would be that I was a little disappointed with the quality of the documentary that was played at the start of the tour.
