Ape Gama in Sri Lanka is a replica of traditional old day Sri Lankan village. This is located in Battaramulla, close to “Diyatha Park”. Ape Gama displays traditional industries, village life style and how self-sufficient old day Sri Lankan society functions in those days.

I went here to buy some clothing for my mother. It's a collection of small seperared huts consisting of people crafting items such as traditional masks, clothing, ornaments etc. They also conduct traditional sri lankan dancing lessons here too.

Ape Gama - Jana Kala Kendraya is a great venue for hosting events, especially cultural celebrations. Our company organized the Sinhala and Hindu Aluth Avurudu festival here last month, and it was a fantastic experience. The area is spacious, well-maintained, and surrounded by nature, which creates a very relaxing environment. Apē Gama - Jana Kala Kendraya is one of those hidden gems in Colombo that truly deserves more recognition—especially from the authorities. Located right in front of the Parliament, it’s not just a scenic public park but also a cultural space that mirrors the charm of a traditional Sri Lankan village, similar to a "Wedi Gammanaya."

For both locals and foreign visitors, Apē Gama is an excellent place to experience Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage. From traditional huts to folk architecture, it
