Winter and windy. It's a unique beach. There is sand. It's not a mud flat like most of the beach along the sound. At high tide, the western end of the beach is under water, but the east beach has sand. At low tide, it's got to be a wide sandy beach. Of course, that means on summer days, it's busy and people are everywhere. The west end, where we spent more time, has a seawall from the early days when excursions came for the weekend or the summer to enjoy the beach and the several bathhouses
