Al-Azhar Park is such a breath of fresh air in the middle of Cairo. It’s calm, green, beautiful, and one of the nicest places to slow down and reset after busy sightseeing days. You forget for a moment that you’re in such a hectic city. The park is very well maintained, with gardens, fountains, walking paths, and open spaces that invite you to sit, relax, and enjoy the views. From different spots, you get amazing panoramic views of Cairo, including historic mosques and old neighborhoods(it’s esp

Beautiful park, not so crowded in the morning. The entrance for foreigners is 150 EGP, they take card and cash. It is a calm and pleasant place for a stroll, a picnic, or a moment of peace. I did not try any of the restaurants but there are three of them and several small shacks that sell snacks. There are plenty of lavatories and places to sit.

The only real park in Cairo, I guess! Slightly expensive for foreigners (200 EGP), but worth the relaxation and calmness. Some nice photos can be made of the citadel! Better to be visited during sunshine and the day, as I also visited later in the night and it gets a bit dark for that. Still nice photos possible due to clever light placing, but overall a slightly dark park at night. Nevertheless, worth the experience during any daytime!

Situated in central Cairo, Al Azhar Park is a wonderful open area with green lush landscape, man made small waterfalls, enclosed family areas. The park, as a whole, has slopes which makes it more attractive. At one corner, one can climb and reach a certain height where the aerial view is quite mesmerizing. There is a food shop just underneath the cliff. We had beef shawarma from there which was absolutely stunning. The park is an exclusive place to enjoy the beautiful sunset.
