It was built in 157 for Ali, the son of Mubariziddin Mehmet Bey. There is a piece carved from stone in the shape of a handle on the upper part of the tomb's door. It is thought that this is a symbolic expression of the nickname "Zincirkiran" (Chainbreaker) given to the owner of the tomb, Mubariziddin Mehmet Bey, because of his success in ending the rule of the Lusignans (1361-1373) in Antalya.

It is located in the Antalya Mevlevi Lodge Garden. Constructed of smoothly cut stone, it has an octagonal body and a pyramidal spire rising from a square base. Inside are three sarcophagi, said to have been previously covered with tiles. A two-line marble inscription above the door, filled with Thuluth script, states that it was commissioned by Yunus Beyoğlu, son of Mahmud, for his late son Ali in late December 1377.

Visiting Zincirkıran Mehmed Bey, the Conqueror of Antakya, is a duty for every Muslim Turkish citizen. His tomb is located near the Yivliminare Mosque. Afterwards, also visit Nigar Hatun, the mother of Prince Korkut.
Be sure to perform a prayer at the Yivliminare Mosque (the city's first mosque) located just below.
