There used to be many monuments in Almaty but since its independence most of them have been removed. This monument stands in the downtown and reminds people of the Kazakh poet and musician Zhambyl Zhabayev. It gives you a sense of culture appreciation in the midst of modern developments.

Nice monument. You can climb to the top if you feel that way inclined.

Not much to do exactly at this place, but do explore surroundings and there are amazing cafes and restaurants nearby

Beautiful sculpture on the road and there are few option for seating and good areas for dining and lounging. It's one of those walk buy historic figures that don't require pre planning .
