I found the exhibits today to have provided a not often seen insight on the SF art scene in the 90s, social issues on everyone's minds in the past and now, and revealing on the spectrum of experiences artists and people are going through. It was a raw collection in that it showed both human fragility and endurance, sprinkled with brightness here and there.

It was my first time here and it was overly nice. They were making nutcrackers for arts and crafts but I unfortunately did not stay for that. It's almost like a museum but just as much as cultural center. The exhibits were nice and I went on a free day which was really nice just as well otherwise it's $10. Very enjoyable and quiet. The park/plaza/gardens outside are just as amazing, it was cloudy out today but it was a still a great day to get out and see some museums! If you get time to ever fe

Although I've been to the SFMOMA many times since college, it's strange that I never been to YBCA before. I was under the impression that it's more of a community art center rather than a museum. But recently, I was drawn to it by the special exhibit from Nick Dong, another fellow Taiwanese American. And it was truly an experience that shouldn't be missed. I highly recommend it.
