I live nearby so this is part it my normal walking routine, unless my dogs are with me as dogs are not allowed here.
Otherwise a very enjoyable place for a morning walk.

If you want to mingle, this is the place to go ... especially on a Sunday in good weather. While never claustrophobically crowded, it is alive with people doing everything from Tai Chi to impromptu Mozart concerts, from children playing in the "Squirrel Wonderland" to grannies dancing to be-bop jazz, from teens carefully courting to trying to get the best photo of the many feral cats in the park. Very relaxed atmosphere, you will stick out as a Westerner but are welcome, and scrupulously clean.

This is beautiful park in the heart of Xujiahui. It is very well maintained, like every park in Shanghai, but late spring and summer are my favourite times to visit. You can forget you're in the middle of the city when you're in this park. There are many trees, flowers, a lot of things for the children to see and explore, and a playground and several little waterfalls, too.
There is a basketball court on the east side where there is always a pick-up game going on and there are a pile of rocks t

I love walking around this park, the overhead walkways are well lit and make a good spot for photos even after sunset.
