It took us 2.5 hours to reach the top hiking from the subway station. We then hiked along the ridge for any 3.5 hours. Totally 11km. It was tough, but very nice views of the whole city, including the most of the mountain tops of Hong Kong.

Challenging mountain if you go by the difficult route! So many steps to the top, however the scenery is stunning! Do not make the same mistake as me coming in a hot weather, choose a nice cooling weather to climb this beast!

Wutong Mountain A must-visit for nature lovers, offering breathtaking views and a refreshing escape from the city. The climb is mainly via stone steps, with well-maintained paths that make the hike pleasant. You can get there by taking the Metro to Wutong Mountain South Station, Exit D. Alternatively, from Liantang Station Exit A, turn left and walk about 800 meters to reach the North Gate.

Starting off, it looked pleasant, and we saw some warthogs nearly immediately - they were quite passive - I think they scavenge for a lot of food from the tourists visiting -

Really beautiful for a one-day hiking activity. Total is about 17km to and fro from the main gate to the peak. The last 1km was very steep for me but luckily managed to complete.
