An important historical monument. On May 30, 1925, workers in Qingdao, Shanghai, and other places protested against arbitrary dismissals and violent treatment of workers at Japanese cotton mills. The Beiyang warlords sent military and police to suppress the protest, resulting in casualties. This event is known as the May 30th Massacre, the Qingdao-Shanghai Massacre, or the May 30th Massacre.
