Google Maps says temporarily closed, but was open 12th of October 2025. Lights are off but he turns them on when I enter. Very interesting museum with many artifacts from ww2.

Great private collection of Japanese WW2 objects and equipment. Museum is free but you can contribute when exiting. The museum is small but full of items so you can do it under 30-45 mins

Incredible little war museum. Its run on donations so the lights are always off unless you enter the doorway.
Filled with weaponry, ammunition, uniforms, photographs, salvaged plane parts and diagrams, even a bomb. aswell as many other military items.
A Must see for any visitors to Takayama.
Please give a donation if you are able to help keep this wonderful piece of history alive.

Amazing hidden gem, everybody visiting Takayama MUST visit this place. Look for the Japanese flag and rising sun flag for entrance. It may look closed with the lights off. Just walk in, the attendant will turn the lights, and greet you.

Was looking forward to this, but I think it's temporarily closed and it's been that way for a few months now? :( just found out through google reviews eventhough it still says open on it
