O muro do antigo cais da Patromoria integrava a construção do século XVIII e era conhecido também como Cais dos Mineiros edificado por Brás de Pina, armador e contratador da pesca de baléias na Baía de Guanabara.
No século XX passou a ser conhecido por Cais da Patromoria devido ao seu uso por patrões-mores da Capitania dos Portos. O único trecho que sobrou pode ser visitado a qualquer hora, apesar de muitos cariocas nunca terem ouvido falar, mesmo tendo passado perto.

This is the start of the pedestrian path that leads to the Museum of Tomorrow and the Aqua Rio waterfront, a boardwalk with beautiful scenery that is well worth exploring on foot, and which I recommend based on my photos.
